Looking at the topic, people might think that RTM is energetic and full of excitement. Yes, when we talk about young, that is what people see. Unless you are in a jungle or place like afghanistan, iraq, somalia, and others place similar to this. But in Malaysia, you'll get to see young people with full of joy with nothing to afraid or border.
But, I'm talking about RTM, Radio Television Malaysia, which exist earlier than TV3, NTV7, TV8, TV9, and ASTRO. At my young age, i get to see only RTM. As times goes by, the channel was added with TV3. RTM got new competitor. And yet we still see the so called young television with nothing to change or NO improvement. They don't bother about TV3 or even trying to challenge the first ever malaysian free private eletronic media.
This year, we celebrate 50 years of Malaysian independent from British (England). Actually, I don't agree this either. Why should we celebrate that. We never been conquer by England, or they never came here and build their empire. They gain by lying and play unhealthy politics with the help of stupid people that only look for temporary wealthy and at the same time let others suffer. Well, this I'll cover later (if I still remember).
The point that I would like to stress here was, RTM is BORING. After 50 years, with many competitor, RTM was still the same. Either they are lack of leaders like TV3 or ASTRO have, or they afraid of change. Some people do afraid of changing. They afraid of stepping out from their comfort zone. They afraid of taking risk. Hey, life is risk. To live is to face risk. Every single second, every single step, there is risk. Is the step you take safe?
I bring up this issue as today, I suddenly change my tv channel to RTM1. There was Qiraati Quran (A program for MUSLIM, whereby an Ustaz is teaching the audience with the help of his student the rule; tajwid; of reading Quran). I don't really recognize the Surah (not a hafiz yet) but they (ustaz and the students) has gone from Ayat 1 to 3 and starting to conclude on Ayat 4. The problem here was the changing of display to Ayat 3 never happen and Ayat 4 was delay. I'm not good in reading Quran (proper way), and this is the best way to learn. But how can we learn if we did not see what was happening and what ever they talk was not reflected on the screen properly. Just look at TV9, a program with Ustaz Zamri everyday at 6.30pm. It was very good and educating. Not just me could learn it (it was easy to adapt and much more better sequence), but my 2 years old daughter also like to see it. Come on RTM... You need to change.
Beside that, if you look carefully, you will see that a lot of RTM programs, either the transition from one display or look n feel to another is damn slow. Just look at the News or even when they do life telecast for sports or any event. Just look how slow the proces, the sound system, and the quality of the visual. It has been 50 years of so call MERDEKA and yet RTM was still at 50 years behind.
For the coming year of 2008, I wish RTM will throw away all old staff that still using old fashion of conducting the channel. Choose new, young and more energetic person. Take new leaders. Hire staff like TV3 did. Don't take their 'not good' ways. TV3 is too open. Learn their management ways.
