Malaysian Made... Well Known and Never Listen

Proton, Perodua, Modenas, Naza, INOKOM, etc... All are malaysian production and has reached almost everywhere in the world. BUT, is the product damn GOOD; value for price; or it is the cheapest and affordable car for country like India, Indonesia, Thailand, China, etc?

I've bought Proton (still using it), have Naza bike, and has INOKOM ATOS, plus Kancil (temporary own) and Avanza (first batch and sold). All are either made by Malaysian or manufactured in Malaysia. AND ALL HAVE PROBLEMS either starts from the first year or right after the warranty period end.

For example, I bought Wira 1.3Gli on 2001 (but the engine was manufactured 2000 and that damn proton sales did not tell me that and it was my first car and I don't know much about car and don't know the fact behind it yet). First, I did not realize that the car door does not properly closed (there were gap and you won't realize with one look). Then I got problem with reverse gear (hard to push). Then, the spring out (had to change). When I went to Proton Service Center and mention that a few time, the same thing still happen (seem there is no changes and they only change according to what necessary written in the service booklet).

Then I bought Avanza. Although it is Toyota, but it was made at Perodua Factory. The first 3 months is ok. BUT, after one long journey (from KL to Kelantan), they were problem during corner. Some weird sound starts. Send to few service center and still happen. Lastly I HAD to request they drive with me to make sure they listen to the sound and ask them to check it. It turn out that the drive-shaft is the root couse. How can it happen and it was not even a year yet.

Then I bought NAZA bikes. For the first month it is ok. But it is DAMN FUNNY. It was Prisma 125 but it can only run 90 and it can goes to 100 when you are moving down and when it hiking, a Honda Kapcai 70cc can overtake this bikes. What else, their service center is damn worse. You will keep on hearing ringing tone and no one pickup. What else, if one tiny thing problem, you had to change all and it could cost you more than buying a new bike. What else, the spare-part is damn difficult to get.

Next is INOKOM ATOS. If it is Hyundai ATOS, I believe it is better. I've two issues with it and I've mention to their service center every time I went for service and still happen and I got fed-up with that. First, the reverse sensor. Sound funny, NOTHING BEHIND but it sound like you are close to hit something. Sometimes it is ok, but most of the time it does not help you. Next is the light at luggage room. Always ON when you opening you door. Damn STUPID. Next is the battery. You need to check every day. It will dry out very fast or even overcharge. I've raised the issues few times and lastly when I checked with them, they gave the same answer like Proton Service Center, Perodua Service Center, etc... "All of this car, malaysian car, is like this. If you are lucky, then you get a good car, else you will spend more money maintaining it"

BUT, the most bored @ fed-up @ tension is THOSE MANUFACTURER NEVER LISTEN.
Yes, most of malaysian still prefer buying proton or perodua or naza. WHY?
1. CHEAPER and LOW interest rate and therefore affordable.
2. It is gamble. After all it is local made and if anything, could go back to the manufacturer.
3. Trying to support malaysian made

IF given a choice with same price and interest rate, will they buy Toyota, Nissan, Mitshubishi, etc or still buying local product? OF COURSE MAJORITY will CHOOSE NOT TO BUY local product.

That was car. What about others such as electrical appliances, computers, etc. Same reason and same answer.
